Update on July 14, 2026 at 7:00AM PT: We’re expanding AI-powered translations for Reels to French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Korean on Instagram. These new additions build on our existing language support for English, Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Kannada.

That’s the future we’re building at Meta. In August, we expanded access to translations for bidirectional English and Spanish to creators on Facebook and Instagram, so that more creators can seamlessly translate their reels with Meta AI. Today, we’re excited to announce we’re adding two more languages, Hindi and Portuguese, making it easier than ever to watch reels from creators around the world – with more languages coming soon.
